Any place in SB to do a barrel tasting? We are heading to Santa Barbara wine country next weekend and need recommendations........

Tons of wineries in Santa Barbara County. Just stop by one and ask. On my list would be Alma Rosa, Fiddlehead, Fess Parker, Foxen, Sanford, etc etc. This is my favorite region for pinot noir hands down! -mJ
We were disappointed with our experience at Alma Rosa. Favorite wineries are Melville, Babcock, Wes Hagen's Clos Pepe, Au Bon Climat, Laetitia, Core, Foxen, Stolpman, Beckmen, Carina, Tensley, Andrew Murray, Fess Parker, and Carhartt.
Not sure about barrel tasting, but the wine ghetto in Lompoc is a good place to visit for a wide variety of tastings.

As others have said, it's not easy to do 'barrel tastings' up in SB (or most other places) unless you have a tie with a winemaker or in a wine club of some sort. Certain regions do hold group barrel tastings from time to time - not Santa Barbara County.

Settled on Brewer Clifton and the downtown Los Olivos tasting rooms (Qupe, Longoria, Carhartt etc) on Friday. Saturday starts with Deb Hall at Gypsy Canyon, lunch at Melville, and the afternoon at Sanguis. Should be a great time.....Don't know if I'll get a barrel tasting but I'm gonna try!

Try Margerum - not a glitzy winery, but they'll absolutely let you barrel taste. They're about 1.5 miles back towards Los Olivos from Fess Parker.
Ended up visiting Brewer clifton, Gypsy Canyon, and Sanguis. All were amazing!!!! Get there if you can.

Did you get your barrel tasting?
Yes - the barrels tasted a bit musty, but the wine in side was quite nice!

got the barrel tasting at sanguis. The new releases are going to be amazing!!!! (las Mujeres rocks!) We tasted in the cellar of a new winery called Grassini. The folks there are amazing. Jessica, mandy, and especially matthias were great. Definitely worth a stop.
