Well, according to the judge, the "error" was so rudimentary that "any first-year law student would have known..." So if it's determined that it was deliberate and not an error, at least it's being reported, Clemens would not undergo a 2nd trial and it's one strike and you're out, game over. Just as well as this was a waste of taxpayer money to begin with.

Agreed - complete waste of time and money. That said, the guy was absolute jerk. Piazza incident, Mindy McCready, etc.

Clemens was faltering in his last few yrs in Boston and he suddenly regains his old form at age 34 in Toronto? Power pitchers (except maybe Nolan Ryan) do not drastically improve in their mid 30's.

Hopefully, the HOF voters will ignore him.

Agree - one of the few Longhorns I've disowned...

Are Vince Young and/or Ricky Williams on the same list?
I'm not sure it was a waste of time from one point of view.
He was not required to testify under oath to Congress. They offered to just take a deposition but he insisted on testifying and taking the oath first. He said he wanted to set the record straight.

Anyone who thinks he didn't take something probably believes Barry Bonds didn't either. And Barry didn't go in front of Congress and lie.

And yet, Barry will likely receive more punishment than Clemens.
