I have to be in Rochester, NY for a meeting tomorrow and the flight schedules are such that I will have a few hours to kill there. Are there any decent wine shops in town?
Slan, Century Liquors has a great selection of wines. Unfortunately, they are not computerized, but they have great depth to their cellar. I've bought many older Bordeaux, none of which have shown any signs of improper provenance. The prices may not be the best on the internet, but for the most part, they're pretty fair.
I second the recommendation on Century Liquors. If you are there on business, you might find them slightly inconverient to get to because they are (were) located in a strip plaza on Hwy 104 and not downtown. I haven't been to Rochester in a long time, but I used to do well buying both Bordeaux and aged Burgundies at Century.
