Vin Scully passed at 94. For anyone who grew up in southern CA in the late 50s and 60s, Vin was baseball. Went to bed many nights listening to him and Jerry Dogatt, Damn - have been expecting this but did not want it to happen. Chick Hearn with the Lakers and Vin with the Dodgers was the Golden Age of sports in So.Cal

50's & 60's?  Haven't watched/listened to baseball in a few decades, I'd say, A4E?

Ribbing you, of course, but as a life longing Padres fan, who went to his first game in '77, I hate the doggers more than any sports team I know, even the raiders, and I'm not a hater.  But to myself, and those friends who I consider ardent baseball fans, Vin was a cut above.  Pure class, knowledgeable, unbias.  I remember Vin and Joe Garagiola calling the game of the week on NBC on Sundays in the 80's.  Legend....I can say he is the best baseball announcer, if not the greatest sports caster, of my lifetime.  RIP
