Been a tough couple of weeks for 60's bombshells.

Yup. Another crime fighting figure passed
Guitarist Gary Rossington, the last remaining original member of US rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died at the age of 71.
Topol. I saw him as Tevye on stage when I was a child. Magnificent.

Sad amazing performer. Literally were just talking about him in Prague on Sunday
Robert Blake. Actor. Star of Baretta.
Willis Reed. New York Knicks great. I mean, he was a great basketball player.
Keith Reid, lyricist for Procol Harum. He was an amazing writer and very much unheralded.
If I were to rank the top 10 lyricists, they would be (IMHO), although order from 6-10 depends on my mood at the time:
1-5: Dylan
6: Leonard Cohen
7: Nick Cave
8: Joni Mitchell
9: Keith Reid
10: Paul Simon
Never dreamed I would see Joni as low as 8th. 🙃
Haggis, any affection for John Prine.
Neil Sedaka [Sp]
Dion
Judy Collins
Haggis, your list has a very glaring omission.
#2 Ray Davies
Back to the RIP subject. Nobody mentioned Jim Gordon's passing last week. Tortured soul but drummer extraordinaire who was part of the Wrecking Crew, Derek & the Dominos, Delaney & Bonnie and session drummer for numerous others.

I wasn't going to jump into this even though I thought Bernie Taupin should be on any top ten list, but then this popped up on my Facebook feed (hello Boomer!)
Forgot about Bernie, he made Elton John
Great point. I'll take one from Dylan and put Bernie on there.
Ben Ferencz….. last surviving prosecutor from the Nurenburg trials. He was 103.
an amazing life.

I am totally gutted to post that erstwhile forumite Vinaigre passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday night. We had many great times and laughs over the 20 years since we met through these boards. He was either the first or second forumite I met when he brought back a bottle of Tedeschi Amarone from Ontario for the April 2004 TAA (for those who remember that). RIP my friend and please raise a glass to him next time you have one in front of you.
Glass ready. will fill with a good wine. And thoughts
So sorry to hear this. My condolences to all that knew him.
Steve, I’m very sorry about the loss of your friend.
This is terrible news. Jean was one of our favourite fellow offliners in Montreal or anywhere else for that matter. Always good company.

Steve, I am in shock. The last time I saw him Kevin, DJ and I went up to their chalet for a wine dinner the day after we were all at Joe Beef.
His entire family was there for the weekend and a wonderful weekend was enjoyed.
I feel sick. Heartfelt condolences to C, kids, brother and entire family.
Sorry to hear Steve. Tough losing an old friend.
Horrible news. Never met him, but we chatted about a trip he and his family were making to Venice, Italy and environs. This was around 10 yrs ago. So sad to hear this. Repose en paix, mon ami.
Very sad

I am very sad to read this. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. RIP.
Oh no! I’m shocked to learn this.
He was a warm and generous man who will be missed by many. RIP.
