Starting “Succession”…

I wish I was at the point of starting this show, I am super envious. Such a great one, can't wait for next season to come out
Finally broke down and subscribed to Paramount+. Mainly because the wife wanted to watch 1883. It is gorgeously filmed, I must admit.

I just got Hulu so I could watch “Only Murders In The Building” (and Ana de Armas). Paramount+ is my last holdout. I’m trying to stay strong.
Recently binged on Breaking Bad. Yeah, I know I am late to that. Currently enjoying Better Call Saul.

Are you a trekkie? European soccer fan? I would say Paramount+ and Netflix are easily our top two streaming services at the moment.

Had a hard time getting into this show to be honest

Yeah, I will definitely be checking out Picard and Discovery. Also, my son has discovered Lower Decks.
Strange New Worlds is coming out soon as well.

Everyone has their own taste, but I would say stick with it. I have yet to meet anyone that didn't love this show.

I’m like you, but I’m going to give it a few more episodes.
I’m almost done with “Only Murders In The Building”. It’s… fine. Cute. Not as funny as I would have guessed. Selena Gomez is better than I would have imagined, though. The actors seem to be having fun, which makes it enjoyable, but it isn’t great.
We watched a PBS documentary about Marin Alsop, the conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. It's called, "The conductor" I think. Pretty good, I thought.
I remember Marin when she conducted the Colorado Symphony. That was right before our very own WS Stickman took the job! She was talented indeed, but Stickman added far more personality to the job.
Unfortunately, I don’t see the Stickman post much anymore! 😢
@sandyfitzgerald posted:Unfortunately, I don’t see the Stickman post much anymore! 😢
Hey, Sandy. Good to see you posting.
Stick stills pops in from time to time in the cigar and fine watches thread. Also, his email is still good…
You likewise good sir! I will have to email him and catch up!
One of the things Ms. Alsop said on the show was that any musician can be a conductor, but not too many could be a really good conductor. I am confident that I could be a lousy conductor.
Better Call Saul - Season 5.
Watching "Emily in Paris". Each episode I watch I lose 2 IQ points. But it's fun and upbeat.
Metal Lords on netflix was a really fun enjoyable movie. tom morello was one of the music producers of it.

It's already on my waiting list to view.
Metal Lords as in the teen movie?
Highly recommended. Quirky and idiosyncratic, and also weirdly compelling. Difficult to describe, but the trailer captures the style and tone.
Anatomy Of A Scandal. A political/courtroom drama as only the Brits cans do it.
My kids really enjoyed Last Bus. it's like stranger things for preteens
About 8 episodes into the current season of Better Call Saul, enjoying it.
Been watching Longmire. Enjoying it.
White Lotus
Reality Z. Brazilian contestants on a Big Brother-like reality show are trapped at the tv station when the zombie apocalypse strikes. Silly and fun.

the british version, dead set was better produced and acted in my opinion
Going to start Our Flag Means Death. Looks funny
We finally got off the stick and signed up for AppleTV so that we could stream all of the episodes of Ted Lasso. You guys have any recommendations for other AppleTV series we can proceed to after we finish Ted Lasso?

We just finished Slow Horses and highly recommend it.
@bman posted:Finally finished all six seasons of Line of Duty on Netflix and it's probably the best cop show I've seen. Then we watched the one and only season of Bodyguard, created and written by the same guy who did Line of Duty.
If you like a slow burning storyline leading to sudden action, real surprises, and lots of twists and turns, but still within the realm of possibility, you gotta try Line of Duty. Bodyguard is also good but Line of Duty is better.
Line of Duty was a great rec, bman. We were totally hooked from second episode. And there’s SIX seasons to go! We’re trying to slow down so we can make it last.
Thank you.😊
Strange New Worlds on Paramount+ looks promising. Like ST:TOS, but with 100 times the budget.
Number One: "What about General Order #1?"
Capt. Chris Pike: "Screw the Prime Directive."

On your rec, starting watching Dead Set. So far, so good.
@brucehayes posted:On your rec, starting watching Dead Set. So far, so good.
nice, yea I like the pacing of dead set. There's just enough human drama element but not to the point like some of the other zombie shows where it's like .. 45 minutes of two people talking and 15 minutes of acutally any zombies.
The korean All of us are dead is great like that too, only a few scenes where it's a little too dramaey but a very fun fast paced zombie series with some fun twists and a social commentary element that is present in most korean dramas nowadays.
Bosch: Legacy I'm 4 episodes in. As good as the original so far. It has semi-retired Crate & Barrel, but I miss J. Edgar.
Meltdown Three Mile Island. A limited series documentary about the accident and its aftermath, featuring interviews with local residents, politicians and those who were, as the old saying goes, "in the room when it happened."
We've been watching Annika lately on PBS. I find it to have excellent writing and pacing.
I just discovered that The Kids in the Hall are back for a new season on Amazon Prime. Still has the original cast, and they do a hilarious riff on their own aging, and the box office dud, Brain Candy.

I squeeze your head.
We own this city on HBO max. Worthy successor to The Wire.

This is an excellent offering.
For those in Canada with Crave, Shorsey is also worth a watch. It's a spinoff of Letterkenny based on the Shoresy character. Not sure if it's on/coming to Hulu in the US as of yet.
Yellowstone
For fans of the original Danish political drama Borgen, on June 2 Netflix (in Canada) is debuting a new stand-alone series Borgen: Power and Glory. I can't wait.
Our Flag Means Death
The Rain. A Danish series about the world ending from a virus contained inside rain drops.
How to get away with a murder.
Finished Bosch Legacy - enjoyable - not as much as the original and unbalanced interest in the story lines for me but still going to watch the next season
Finished Obi-won Kenobi. Had its ups and downs.
Handmaid's tale season 5 is out! Sometimes i like to watch episodes on my local channels https://www.firesticktricks.co...ls-on-firestick.html. From time to time they show something interesting there.
@evatra posted:Handmaid's tale season 5 is out!
We are living it. Do not need tv for that
Been watching On Patrol Live on Reelz, the new iteration of Live PD, which was yanked by AMC in a knee-jerk reaction to the George Floyd incident. It is live on Friday and Saturday nights. If more people actually watched what police officers (many of which are people of color) go thru on a day-to-day basis, no one would be calling for defunding of police.
Started Welcome to Wrexham
The Sinner , last season is great. In general I don't watch too many tv show and prefer doing something useful for my brain instead. You can find out here now what I am talking about and understand it a little better.
Selective Outrage, the new Chris Rock special that debuted live tonight. It got a bit slow when he went on about dating certain parts of stuff with his family. But a lot of it was excellent. He body-slammed the Smiths at the end, which was great. But my favorite part was his bit on abortion which was hilarious.
1923 Really enjoying this one. It's hitting on all cylinders, whereas Yellowstone has dragged a bit the last season or two. Some say Taylor Sheridan is being spread too thin, and Yellowstone has suffered for it.

I enjoyed the first 4 seasons of Yellowstone. The 5th season has dragged a bit; maybe things will pick up in the second half.
1923 has been very good; with perhaps the subplot of the Indian girl who was being abused by the Catholic nuns - which is like a completely separate show.
I'm getting ready for the third season of Ted Lasso.
