Justified on Amazon Prime. Meh.
Watched the pilot for Sneaky Pete last night. I think there is plenty there to make for a great series. Hopefully it gets picked up.
Keep thinking I was going to watch Any Given Sunday .
Too late, already canceled. Don't think I would have enjoyed the show per se, but did plan on watching to see what I thought. Must have been dreadful.

It was pretty bad. I watched parts of a few episodes and Bill just seemed awkward as a host. I think he should just stick to writing and the podcast.quote:Originally posted by wine+art:

Finally finished first season of The Americans. I liked it and will probably watch subsequent seasons, but I didn't like it so much that I feel the need to rush into season 2.
I binged Atlanta over the last week or two (although it's probably not binging if it takes that long), and it's the best show I've seen in awhile. A long while.

I thought he was ok, but some of his guests choices were bad ideas. Boring. No show host should let Ben Affleck do a rant on their show either.
I didn't care for his Measure C commentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS7KL84H1DM
I've started watching _The War_ on Amazon Prime. It's the PBS series from about a decade ago. Fairly interesting.
I agree 1000% with him on measure c.quote:Originally posted by spo:quote:Originally posted by GlennK:It was pretty bad. I watched parts of a few episodes and Bill just seemed awkward as a host. I think he should just stick to writing and the podcast.quote:Originally posted by wine+art:

Narcos Season 2 - so far as good as Season 1
Just finished Season 2 of Bosch. Liked it, although I'm still so-so on Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch.
I'd love to have his house on the hill, though. That nighttime view is jaw dropping.

I've enjoyed watching The Crown from Netflix.
I haven't finished all the old Twilight Zone episodes yet, but I'm now splitting time between it and the old Mission Impossible series. I didn't even know there was a Mr. Briggs before there was a Mr. Phelps.
The best overlooked show is Mozart in the Jungle which put out its third season which as of my viewing two episodes continues to be great and features the unbelievably sexy Monica Bellucci.
For me the big news is the new Netflix show starting next week The OA. Created by the oh so good looking, smart and creative, Brit Marling. It should be very interesting.

I am intrigued with the upcoming season 2 for Man in the High Castle.
I watched the full season this past weekend on my flights to and from NY. I thought it was pretty good and an easy watch. Perfect for a long flight. I totally forgot about Tania Raymonde since she was on Lost. She is beautiful.quote:Originally posted by PurpleHaze:quote:Originally posted by PurpleHaze:quote:We'll see - we have a very hard time watching any legal shows
There's enough non-legal action to keep you entertained, methinks...

Well... I watched Episode 4 of Goliath last night. I'm finding the dialogue a little stilted and unnatural at times. This was a minor nit with me curing the first 3. The story line still has me engrossed, though.

Just finished season 3 last night. Very good again.
I've been enjoying Mozart Season 3 only because of the location - Venice!
I did not see the Hollow Crown in its first take (back in 2012). I've watched the first two of this grouping - based on Henry VI. It's been alright, but I'm seriously looking forward to Benedict Cumberbatch in Richard III.
In the first set was their Henry V any good?

Double D - I agree with you on both Narcos and The Crown.

I think this will be my next series to watch while flying to wherever.
Just watched a news story about this series in which several people who knew the Queen and Prince Philip in their youth say much of it is BS. For example, he never resented that she was his monarch, he was always confortable with the fact that she was Head of State and he was a mere prince. Also lots of mistakes in terms of timelines, medals displayed, etc.
On the other hand, it is not a documentary.......

Have watched the first 6 episodes of season 5 of Game of Thrones. Still pretty good, but not quite enjoying it as much as the early seasons.

I've wondered how accurate the portrayals are.
Anybody else watching MARS on the Nat Geo Channel? tbird and I have been watching and enjoying this first season.
Over the vacation of the holidays, watched Goliath season 1 and almost done with season 1 of The Americans.
both quite good but The Americans is great. Love Keri Russell.
Anybody knows if there will be a season 2 of Goliath?

You have some binge-watching to do with The Americans Merengue! It's a great show. I'm a little frustrated with FX for not making the last season available for On Demand.

No word yet. I hope they'll give it another run. I liked Thornton in this a lot. Perfect role for him.

Two top notch foreign dramas now on Netflix:
Fauda: an Israeli production, "the show is about a team of Israeli undercover operatives called mista’arvim, the term used for Israeli agents dressed like Arabs, who are trying to capture Abu Ahmed, a notorious (and fictional) Hamas terrorist."
Nobel: a Norwegian production about Norway's military involvement in Afghanistan and the aftermath in Norway of certain military events in Afghanistan.

Perfect timing, thanks sunny. I have a number of flights looming.
After being pestered by several of my younger employees, I gave Sons of Anarchy a try. Now halfway through Season 6, and really liking it. Fun stuff.

just started watching "Versailles". About Louis XIV.
Enjoyable so far.

Binged through the OA. Entertaining.

Good news...The Americans just gets better and better. I've found each season more riveting than the previous. Have fun!
I am watching "The Crown" on Netflix. Just finished the third episode. I think it is well done, with a great cast. Very enjoyable.
"The Crown" is a good show.
I about gave up on "Orange is The New Black" for Season Four, but I gave it a try. I am glad that I did because Season Four may be the best one of the series.

Semi-binged "Sneaky Pete" over the past 5 days. It's on Amazon Prime.
Created and produced by Brian Cranston, who also has a supporting role. Canadian Graham Yost was also involved.
Starring Giovanni Ribisi with a great supporting cast.
A whole lot of fun with half a dozen intertwined plots. Starts off slowly - and we weren't sold on it based on the first two episodes - but it progressively gains speed like an out of control locomotive. It's a big Fargo-like towards the end, and there were a few plot points that were explained away rather quickly, but still highly recommended.

I'm kind of overwhelmed with the amount of old TV stuff that I can get my hands on. We haven't finished The Twilight Zone (we're in season 3), and haven't finished even season 1 of Mission Impossible (I had forgot that seasons of old TV shows had like 30 episodes), and now I've started on I, Claudius.
I remember I, Claudius being better. Hopefully it will get better. Right now it's just interesting to see lots of actors that I know from subsequent other things.

I am enjoying right now. They do a really good job of getting tense situations going.

Greatest mini-series ever on TV. I've watched it at least once each decade and nothing has changed my opinion of it in almost 40 years.
