wasnt this based off a 70s sci fi movie?

ther'es another series i think that has a similar "theme"

it's called Humans on AMC. The first 5 episodes were good, but then it got wonky and there's just too much being a whiny bitch to really attract much mroe attention from me.

it's based off the swedish series called Real Humans.

I see westworld suffering a similar fate.
The Fall

Two episodes into season 3. Gillian Anderson gives a quiet, nuanced performance - although I expect that some might think she under acts. So far, this season is about the fallout - physically and emotionally - of the final moments of the last episode of season 2. The pacing is deliberately slow and painstakingly detailed. Most of the first episode dealt in real time with what happens when a near-death shooting victim is brought into emergency.

We really enjoyed this series and hope there will be a Season 4. Ditto Marcella, which is similar and not so slow-moving, though we're not through that one yet.
Supergirl: ** 1/2

Dopey parts of the show: When she starts using her powers, Supergirl takes one quick fighting lesson from her government agent sister and is suddenly Ronda Rousey.

Pulitzer Prize winning Photojournalist Jimmy Olsen doesn't appear to own a camera during most of the series. Huh?

A love triangle that turns into a love rectangle, then a love pentagon.

C. Flockhart reprises her Ally McBeal character, but with extra bitchiness.

All that said, it's good vapid entertainment. The cast and scripts are excellent, and the star Melissa Benoist can act her ass off.

Just finished episode 3 and man, it's gone from deliberately slow to a dead stop. Literally nothing happened in this episode. It would be OK if they could maintain some tension, but it's just flat.

Where did you see season 3? It's just airing now in the UK, and I didn't think it had aired here yet. (It's the season that so far takes place mostly in the hospital.)

Sorry, I didn't review the whole thread and missed that you were referring to Season 3. We haven't seen that yet. But much of the first two seasons was slow too but the payoff eventually came and was worth the wait, we thought.

If you thought the first two seasons were slowish, just wait. Season 3 is in a different universe of slow.

BTW, I think Season 3 will be on Netflix on Oct 29th.

Looking forward to that, though we need to finish Marcella first and are currently watching the network shows we like.

An added point of interest for those British shows is to see and hear actresses with whom we are familiar from American shows where they speak with American accents speaking with their natural British accents and, for lack of a better way of putting it, being British (though I recognize that Gillian Anderson is officially American)

Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton. What HBO's The Night Of wishes it was.

On Amazon streaming.

I'm 3 episodes into Season 1 of this show. Like it a lot so far.

Thanks - we debated starting this or Good Girl Revolt over the weekend.

If you get to the end of Episode 2 and aren't compelled to keep watching I'll be surprised.

We'll see - we have a very hard time watching any legal shows - as I invariably get annoyed and start griping and FKG then wonders why I can't just watch and have to analyze and point out every flaw and point of ridiculousness etc.

There's enough non-legal action to keep you entertained, methinks...

Well... I watched Episode 4 of Goliath last night. I'm finding the dialogue a little stilted and unnatural at times. This was a minor nit with me curing the first 3. The story line still has me engrossed, though.

+1, but wished they had spent more time on the actual trial.
