It's been 30 years since Ash Williams first did battle with The Evil Dead and the great Bruce Williams is back to kick their ass (and have his kicked) again. Ash vs. Evil Dead is simply wonderful return to the comic horror form for Campbell and his long time friend Sam Raimi. Good enough to just add on Starz to get it.

I've been a fan for many years, Army of Darkness being my favorite. I'm going to have to figure out some way to catch this.

My favorite story being in Evil Dead 1 (or was it 2?) there was a big, bloated corpse/demon floating near the ceiling (on wires). Sam Raimi's brother, Ted, was forced to play the part. It took so long to get him into the make-up, and costume, and up on the wires, that by the time they got the scene set up, it was time for lunch. So they all took off to go eat, and just left him hanging there. Big Grin Sounds like something an older brother would do!

I have seen all 3 episodes and they are doing a really good job with this.

OK so I'm probably the last person in the western world to see it, but we just finished watching all 5 seasons of The Wire. Outstanding stuff. Great writing and some superb performances (McNulty, Bunk, Daniels, Rawls, Stringer) I think my order of preference for the seasons would be 2 (by a longshot), 1, 5, 3 and 4.

Now I'll have to read back through this thread to figure what other series I've missed over the past decade or so.

I think your order of preference is almost opposite of most people. I enjoyed every season - After repeat viewings, I think the last season was my least favorite. Season 4 was the saddest.

FKG and I started watching Bosch based on the Michael Connelly books on Amazon over the weekend. It is a small Wire reunion with some behind the scenes folks and Jamie Hector (Marlo) and Lance Redick (Daniels) which pretty major roles. Titus Welliver is the lead - who was awesome in Deadwood and lots of other stuff. We have seen 6 of the 10 episodes I think and I have really enjoyed it so far.

Thanks for the heads-up on this - I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm a big fan of Connelly and enjoy all of the Bosch books. In fact, I'm about halfway through The Crossing right now and really enjoying it.

The series mixes up the plots from 3 or 4 of the books. If you've read the books, you might find it a little odd. Otherwise I thought it was enjoyable but not particularly memorable.

Been watching Luther the BBC crime drama with Idris Elba and it's very good.

Ruth Wilson as Alice is particularly wonderful.

It's so whacked. Over the top crazy. But in a good way. Looking forward to the special 2-episode finale in December.

Sounds like this is a new season? I've seen several seasons in the past, but I wasn't aware they were having a new season. The previous seasons I've seen (2 maybe 3 of them) have been very good to great.

On 24 October 2015, BBC One, via their Facebook page, confirmed that special two-episode Series 4 of Luther would air in December 2015 on BBC One. It will also air as a three-hour special event on BBC America on 17 December 2015.

Apparently this will be the series finale.

Just finished Deadwood - man was that a great show.

I'm almost finished season 1. Not bad, but a weird subject for a series.

One thing for sure, the warning about the language at the beginning of each episode is for real. More cursing than I can ever remember seeing in a movie, never mind a TV show. Especially the "C" words. I can be pretty profane myself but this even has me cringing at times.

The new Netflix show, Bloodlines, is excellent. It is a dramatic series about a family business in the Florida Keys. I have only seen the first three episodes, but I will certainly finish watching Season One.

Really liking this series. The first two episodes I found to be a bit of a slough, but it picks up quickly and doesn't look back.

Anyone watching The Night Manager mini series based on the Le Carre book? Worth the time?

Definitely in for this and hoping for the best. It doesn't start in the US until April 21.

Watched the first episode last night. Somewhat pedestrian and underwhelming. It whipped through plot points so quickly there seemed to be little logic to the decisions people were making. I haven't read the book, so I don't know how closely the episode parallels the book. But it was clear by the end that everything that happened in episode 1 was just to set up the bigger story that's about to unfold. So I'll give it a second chance.

I'm also not sure yet about the choice of Tom Hiddleston for the lead.

Second episode was considerably better.
The Americans continues to kill it. This week's episode had the Best Episode Title of the Year, "The Magic of David Copperfield V: The Statue of Liberty Disappears." Second, you think your mother is tough, Paige discovers just how tough Elizabeth (Keri Russell) can be. And once again two great older actors, Frank Langella and Margo Martindale, show the young'ns how it's done.

Wonderful, right on, review in Variety

I read the first two lines of TOM's post before realizing it would be a spoiler. If you aren't watching The Americans, you should get on it. How is this show not winning awards? I know they don't "mean anything", but this show has been the best for the past two seasons.

As for something else, is anyone else watching The Night Manager? Fantastic stuff. I've seen 2 of the 3 episodes thus far, and it's great.
