Smoky, savory and spicy, along with some cherry, plum and orange rind. Acidic kick is present but not too hard. A very nice wine that reminds me of Oregon Pinot Noir and Rhone Syrah such as Crozes-Hermitage and St. Joseph. I would love to try this again in 3 years.

This has evolved a lot since I first had it. I noticed earth, leather and smoke along with nice red fruit. I would say cherry and plum that hints at that Italian spiciness but is mild and refined. I also noticed a little orange rind, some spice and gaminess. It has a dry leathery finish. I may have preferred it young. This wine is so well made, so balanced and refined (always was), and smoothed out so much and become more expressive. It is a good thing, but I liked it when it was a little raw. It is now pretty velvety. Also hints of milk chocolate and a savory quality. Wow!
