As a newbie here, this thread is truly mind-boggling. It's hard to imagine that an original thought could be added to this thread, but I'll take that risk anyway. I was just wondering whether it would be personally devastating or a badge of honor for the forumite who finally, in the far off distant future, kills this thread (i.e., has the final post). Eek

I think I'll make it a Christmas gift to myself to wade through this entire thread during the holidays. Smile

see, when I was young, I used to participate in online discussions about wine. But one day, see, there was this thread (that's what we called each discussion, see) that was really not about wine - in fact, it was about nothing, but we kept discussing it, year after year after year, making milestones of the silliest things, all the while ignoring the whole thing...

To which the assembled grandchildren reply...
