Johannes in Palm Springs on Indian Canyon. European/Continental with intersting sauces and preparations. Broad, interesting wine list.
Have heard nothing but rave reviews from this establishment:

Traditional french cuisine and an excellent wine list, like I said, this is thru the proverbial "grapevine" but I intend to visit the Palm Springs area soon specifically to dine here.
Also interesting: Rattlesnake, excellent and eclectic.

The menu thay have up on-line does not do the food justice. It is a "posh" restaurant, but not much of an attitude.
