I was looking for some pairing recommendations for a baby greens salad w/cherry tomatoes and a balsamic vinaigrette. I'm fairly recent to wine, and most of my friends will be almost total newcomers to wine, so some non-aggressive selections would be welcome

Also, with a dark chocolate based dessert, would it be better to pair port, or some red wine? In either case, what would you recommend.

I'm open to modifications, if they help highlight a style of wine; what kind of salad would you recommend for a pairing?

I would change the salad to get away from the vinegar dominance. Cheese based salads are best for wine and easy to do IMO or don't do a salad at all - make another cold plate of something else.

Wine pair with ease then. Smile
