Well, since I posted in the 'wine cellar thoughts' thread how we recently purchased many nice wines, I might as well share what we found in our trip.

Two weeks ago we had a short trip to Santa Barbara county, but covered 14 wineries in that time.

Some of the highlights in purchases of Santa Barbara county were:

Daniel Gehrs Shiraz, 2001
Bedford Thompson Chardonnay, 2002
Bedford Thompson Mourvedre Los Alamos, 2001
Daniel Gehrs Chenin Blanc Pinnacles, 2005
Koehler Chardonnay Santa Ynez, 2005
Koehler Riesling Santa Ynez, 2005
Lafond Chardonnay SRH, 2005
Lafond Syrah, 2003
Rusack Pinot Noir, 2005
Rancho Sisquoc River Red, 2004
Babcock Chardonnay Oasis, 2005
RAncho Sisquoc Silvaner, 2005

Most need some time yet, some quite a bit. Luckily, some are drinkable right away, and they will certainly be enjoyed.

Napa was almost as efficient, but with 12 people instead of just 4, we couldn't cover as much ground, but had a lot of fun. 12 wineries in 2 days, some highlights:

Trefethen Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, 2000
Trefethen Viognier, 2005 (this was an interesting one)
Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003
Rombauer Chardonnay, 2005
Rombauer Chardonnay Reserve, 2004
Falcor Chardonnay, 2002
Falcor Le Bijou, 2000
Clos Du Val Pinot Noir (this was fantastic), 2003
Abundance Zinfandel
Robert Stemmler Chardonnay
