Decanting an '11 Schrader RBS ('11s supposed to drink young, right??). My birthday so I'll do what I want!
Getting ready to enjoy the Blackhawk's game!
Happy Birthday EB. Let us know how that RBS turned out.
Thank you, Sparty. The RBS was nice, but needs time (as expected). If their poor vintage stuff is this solid, I can't wait for my '12s (and '13s for that matter).

Nice! Any notes? Highlights?
The '98 is a beautiful wine. The '05 is still a beast and needs lots of air but will be a great VCC when it matures. I really enjoyed the '06 and I think it is an underappreciated vintage. The '11 is a better wine than Parker thinks. The '01 was my least favorite.

2003 Pinino Brunello di Montalcino
For those asking:
2004 Cerbaiona (Molinari) Brunello di Montalcino – Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (10/15/2014)
WIML91
Tasted non blind.
Dark garnet color in glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of light smoke notes, black berries, plums and black raspberries. Flavors of black raspberries, black berries and boysenberries. Tangy acidity, medium to firm tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold. (91 points)
Not to shabby for such a young wine. I think I'd lean more towards holding though.

wiml... I wish you'd post notes more often. I respect your palate, and am not a frequent lurker in the blogoshpere.

Tonight, 2008 Quinta Do Vale Meao Meandro, which is still very dark but has softened quite a bit over the last couple of years, lots of plum and berry flavours, some mineral, long finish with very fine tannins. A delicious blend of mainly (85%) Touriga Nacional, Franca, and Roriz, though has little resemblance to any Port. Very nice wine.

Beringer Private Reserve Cabs from '91, 92, 94, 95, 97 were (are?) all terrific wines that eventually turned out to be bargains relative to other Napa Cabs of that level, and were very easy to find for a long time. Wish I still had a few in my cellar. Glad to hear the '91 still shows well today.

Except for the corked Montrose, not a clunker in the bunch. The generosity of fellow wine lovers is amazing.

I have had two bottles that were also corked. Very disappointing indeed.
Glad all of your other bottles were showing well.
