I've seen more and more of a preponderance of using those silly (and annoying) text message "words" on these boards lately. Mad Mad Maybe it's a sign of the times and I need to catch up, but they really are starting to annoy me! It makes the poster sound less intelligent, more juvenile! I have nothing against the people who use them, but find the trend annoying.

For example (Sorry PatrickinKW): using "NE" to mean "any," using "RU" to mean "Are you," etc. etc. I have used acronyms myself, but I think they're differnet. Things like IIRC, IMHO, etc. don't bother me. It's the text message language that gets to me.

Okay, rant over. Thanks for listening. Big Grin

Today it's heirogliphics.
Yesterday it was wearing hats sideways.
30 years ago it was long-haired freaky people (that's from a song - for the young ones in the forum).

Isn't it all about breaking from conformity and establishing some sort of independence?

At least that's my story - and I'm sticking to it. Too bad I dont have a clue what 75% of you said above.....

I don't even use text messages. I have plenty of minutes, and if you are on Verizon..its free...I say just f'ing call me for crissake.

There are times where making or receiving a phone call isn't appropriate. Now THAT'S a subject for another thread.... Roll Eyes
