This Italian bubbly is labeled as Brut but I’m guessing the RS is at the higher end of that range. Nearly as deep in color as a Tavel. Small but aggressive bead. Strawberry and toast on the nose. Similar flavors with some chalkiness and minerality. Enjoyable if a bit simple, 87-88. First had this wine in the summer as part or a 4-course pairing that a local wine bar did in partnership with a small Italian restaurant. They paired this with the dessert course of mixed berries with mascarpone, which worked well. We tried it with a savory breakfast (for dinner) and it didn’t work that well. It’s much more enjoyable on its own, and with a cookie.
