According to the tag on the bottle, this is actually a 1998 vintage Champagne labeled as a non-vintage. Medium-gold color, with an absolute torrent of fine bubbles. Really, I've never seen/felt so many ecstatic bubbles. I loved it! An impressive array of fruits, including apple, pear, and a touch of lemon, rounded out with vanillan oak, a very faint doughiness, and a wonderful, chalky minerality, and a very long finish. For me, this is classic Champagne! Lots of energy, the highest degree of complexity, fantastic bubbles, and CHALK! Oh, yes! 97 points IMO. Next to a 1988 Krug, this is the best Champagne I've ever had! This wine saturates the palate almost like a Krug. Smile Smile Smile
