I was talked into splitting a case of Warhol Dom Perignon last night. Smile

one of my local shops is selling it for $159, is the Warhol label really that rare? It's $30+ more for the label... I'm considering picking up a couple, but not sure if the price is right for the label.

I'm an art fool nut , but would never pay a premium for a label.

Now that said, I did buy the dreadful '73 Mouton for the label alone. I will never open this wine, and it is one of only three bottles of wine that one will see in my home. Big Grin
2 x 1978 Robert Mondavi Cab/Sav Napa Reserve (Magnum)
1 x 1978 Stone Creek Cab/Sav
1 x 2000 Grange des Peres
2 x 2001 Grange des Peres
1 x 2002 Grange des Peres
1 x 2003 Grange des Peres

I'm a 1978 bith year and the mags of Mondavi should still be good. The Stone Creek apaprently has a base neck fill, but was less than nothing to write home about at the best of times, so I'm expecting less than nothing.

I've wanted to try Grange des Peres for a while and these should all be drinking now.

1978 was an excellent vintage in Baby Ville. Cool

I was hovering over the "Buy Now" button but held off. Been spending too much lately. Post some notes if you crack one of these! Smile

I'm looking forward to experiencing a Serpico that isn't an absolute wall of tannin. Eek

Was this the wine I had last time with you at your place? Or was it the 1999 vintage?

NV are my only Paillard. But I don't believe that was what we opened the last time at the house. I don't recall exactly which one we opened then.

I recall it being a Bruno Paillard 1999. There was one in the system for 92$. You opened it up at J's bday with Steve8 at your place. I remember it being a champain and I liked it.

PS I almost bought 2 bottles of a 1998 Charles Elzer Brut Champagne today. You would have been proud.

Ha - I could have gone either way myself. After 4 cases just appeared I've felt I need to drink more, spend less. That's what the holidays are for. Anyway - figured for $50 on what is $80 elsewhere (+shipping) it was a worthwhile deal.

@KSC02 - I'm thinking given that it's 9 years old it may have some tannins that are giving way? I'm thinking of cracking this along side an '07 Galardi for some contrast.
