Norman Hardy Accused of Sexual Misconduct

I was speaking with a couple of industry people and people who considered NH a friend/colleague this morning. General consensus is that there's a high probability it's true and there is no way he keeps the winery.  Most of his wine is sold to restaurants across Canada as he's spent considerable time developing a following among those circles.

He's done......as he should be.

WF&E, I know it's a shtick but don't make fun of sexual misconduct.  It just isn't funny.

Indeed, pathetic.

The whole schtick is pathetic.  Lost its fun factor after the first week.  W&FE, I'm pretty sure you're someone who posts here already, but... just give it up.  The persona is non grata.

Here's what I don't understand.

Guys like Hardie, Battali, Weinstein, Strauss-Kahn, these guys are studs! Buff manly men.

Surely with their good looks they could have found willing women, rather than get all creepy.

And if not their looks, they had the money to make someone find them attractive.

Guys will always be attracted to girls and vice versa, but there's a creepiness factor to these stories - surely these guys knew that clumsy groping just made them seem gross and disgusting. They were all supposed to be smart.

Smart seems to go out the window when hormones take over.

It was a joke. Those guys are about the last guys any woman would be checking out, much less welcoming their greasy hands.

And surely they knew that. Any one of them looking in the mirror knew he wasn't competition for the Rock.

But they had money. They had to be smart enough to know that nobody was going to welcome their advances based on their looks and charm, so just make it a business transaction.

Bite your tongue, sir, immediately! I will have you know, the entire Canadian culinary industry is experiencing a change for the better in this male-dominated industry which I, personally, have shed my own blood, sweat and tears to rise to the Top whilst enduring the abuse of powerful men!  A spike in contracts for my consulting services in Canada is a DIRECT result of Mr Hardy [sic] and his behaviour, Positively! I trust you will put aside your opinion of moi and respect the issue at hand and hope for a change which will benefit the culinary, wine and dining experience for all, in perpetuum! Now as I have a respected voice whether you like it or not I will flex it and contribute to these due changes, absolutely!

Cheers!

I've got to say, this is one of the most distasteful posts I've read in a long time (given that this is a made up personality rather than a real person facing real discrimination and abuse).

In a hypocritical step that only the KGBO could take, it will refuse to stock Mr. Hardie's wines on its shelves.  It will, of course, still permit such wines to be sold elsewhere, including at Mr. Hardie's winery and will be collecting all such revenue associated therewith.  The emptiest of gestures from the KGBO.

Total speculation here as I know nothing about Canadian laws governing production and sale of wine. Perhaps it’s a simple matter to stop carrying his wines, but pulling his license to sell might be a more complex issue subject to due process? Could it be that’s in the works?

You think that's bad, from an earlier post, "I will have you know, Mr Hardy [sic] hardly stands a chance at feeling my Double D's, positively..."

And yet some here get their jollies being in the know of who this shameless pig is.

I wish that this new software would have an "IGNORE' or "BLOCK" on a person rather than the opportunity to Follow

WF&E is a disgrace on this subject

Is this still the anticipated outcome? The only update I could find was this. https://www.theglobeandmail.co...e-in-wake-of-sexual/
