2000 Miner Oakville
Dark cranberry with a sweet rich nose. A thin sweet layer right up front followed by dark fruit and warm spices.Vanillia and smoke notes on the moderate finnsh. Good stuff. 89pts

2000 Stags Leap Cellars Fay Vineyard
Cranberry color with a very reserved nose. Velvety texture with black cherry, mocha on the front, slightly tight in the middle. Silky tannins and a moderate finnish. Nice. 90pts

2001 Pine Ridge Stags Leap Dist
Cranberry color with a nice nose of spicy berries.Cherry tones with a velvety mouthfeel over smoke and vanilia. Slight cahlky texture. Smooth tannins round out a moderate finnsh. 89pts

1999 Spring Mountain Reserve
A bit darker cranberry color. Dark fruit nose with a dusty componant. A bit green up front (green peppers) with some sweet fruit in the middle. Tight. 86pts

1999 Clos du Val Reserve
Dark garnett with just a touch of purple. Mild nose. Big and bold on the pallet with mocha, spice, coffee, and currant. Long lingering finnsh with warm spice. Thick and rich. 91pts

2001 Whitehall Lane Reserve
Dark purple with a mild vanillia laced nose. Thick with high extraction. Tons of fruit hidden in there, reminds me of an Aussie Shiraz. Needs some cellar time to reveal itself. Thick tannins on the finnish. 92pts

2002 Lewis Cellars
Cranberry purple color with a rich nose of spice and fruit. Incredible wine bursting with complex overtones on the pallet. Floral notes, charcoal, gravel, lavender, black cherry, it's all in there. A jammy blackberry core reveals itself as well. A massive wine! Finishes long with smokey tast and fine tannins. My WOTN! Big Grin95pts

2000 Chappellet Pritchard Hill
Cranberry color with a very tight nose. Rich and packed with tannins. Very dry, packed with fruit into the lingering finish. Needs time to settle out. 90pts
