Once the playoffs begin I’ll root for the Rangers in the east and the Wild in the west.
The Blackhawks released a statement confirming that they will not re-sign Jonathan Toews in the off-season, ending his tenure with the team tonight. He was the last player from the Cup-era team. Given his health issues I’m hoping he simply retires and gets well.
I suspect some team will offer him a contract if he wants to keep playing. One that needs a team leader could do worse than him.
Playoffs start tomorrow.
Sounds like a case of poopy-pants or some other “bug” is going around the Bruins. Maybe the pressure of making a run after winning the President’s Trophy got to them. Not every team has the fortitude for a successful cup run with that kind of pressure on their aging shoulders.
More than just "poopy pants" in the case of Bergeron but he is expected to return for game 5. Krejci is questionable for game 4 after also missing game 3. And it sounds like Swayman might be in net for game 4.
Nosek somehow did not get any punishment for that very questionable hit on Staal.
Kind of weird that all 8 series are 2-1 after three games. No sweeps but there still could be some upsets.
B’s on the brink of advancing. Think there’s any chance they sit Bergeron so whatever’s bugging him isn’t made worse by a desperate opponent? I know he won’t be down with it, but with their depth and a home crowd I’m thinking they are a strong favorite to close it out in five. If so the whole team gets a rest and he can recover more fully.

Bruins defence and Ullmark collapsed. Marchand had 10 pts but was -6 for the series, which says a lot imo. Kind of like his lame effort to block that series winning shot. What a waste of a great season.
That said, Panthers played very well. They were faster to the puck most of the time.
Annual choke job by the Leaves, after having been delayed by a week, seems to be in full swing. "We want Florida" indeed.
