oh fun! more BS

i tell ya, i am jumping on the SAQ band wagon hard! set up an online account about 2 weeks ago... their system and lottery is logical, shows you upcoming items, the staff is very friendly AND WANTS BUSINESS! IMAGINE THAT!. i found a store about 2 hours way from me here in Ontario that is willing to hold bottles that i buy and have them shipped there so i can pick them up every couple of months, many prices are cheaper, beater selection....the store manager is very friendly and accommodating....  vive le bel provence!!!!

got a call from the LCBO today... " hi, your bottle of Domaine D'angerville from February has been cancelled because we made a mistake with the inventory and over sold the bottle... we can either refund you $150 OR  we have a different bottle here, same year, different wine, same producer  but its $300, would you like that instead?"

me" yeah sure, that's very nice of you to upgrade the bottle to the $300 one for inconveniencing me and selling me something you didn't actually have in stock, i appreciate that!... "

lcbo" oh no no, we arent offering an upgrade for free.. we are offering you the chance to buy the $300 one instead of the $150 that we don't have "

me "fuck right off"

I am obviously joking.. but would not be surprised if it were something equally bad.

That's crap.. They tried to swap the Volnay 1er for the Ducs? I picked up the bottles I ordered Feb 27th! I guess the further outside Toronto you are, the more likely to get the shaft when they're at the end of the inventory?

I setup a SAQ account ~10 days ago as well when I saw the upcoming burgundy lottery. I am further away... about 4-5 hrs from Toronto, but that is an interesting proposition if I start making my way to Ottawa again.
