Pour a riojo into a pithcher and add what ever fresh fruit you can get (squeeze the citrus, cut the other fleshy fruits into wedges). While many recipes call for sugar, I believe you are better off in the long run to just get good fruit. If you can't, go to the frozen food section and get some juice concentrate.

I like to put lots of fruit in it because while the fruit provides a reasonable contribution to the wine, the wine sure improves the fruit. Also if you go heavy on the fruit, you can just keep refreshing it with more wine (probably sangria sacrilige, but hey it works for me). Later, I'll be eating the happy fruit remaining in the pitcher.
Christmas Sangria: 1 bottle dry white, 1 small can frozen cranberry cocktail, sliced: 1 orange, 1 lemon, 1 lime, Mix together and let sit for a few hours in the fridge then add 2 cups Club Soda and ice before serving. Add a little Grand Marnier as well and you could also put frozen cranberries in the glasses for garnish. Not traditional, but, I have been making this for years and it always goes fast at every party.
