Sometime between 2000 and 2018 or so, there was a documentary-style movie that set out to answer this question: can a panel of judges determine which of two vintners created a bottle of wine based on their personalities? It took place in France. One of the vintners was very buttoned-up and strove to bring elegance to his wines. The other was the exact opposite. In fact, there's a scene of him lying in the driveway of his vineyard completely drunk and singing to the sky. They both used the same varietal, endured the same growing conditions...and in the end the panel did correctly match which wine went with which grower.

Does anyone know what film this was?

I believe it was a documentary, but a short one. Definitely not a scripted movie. And much of it was in French with subtitles. I recall at the time either the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal had recommended people watch it. But I've searched their archives to no avail. It was a wonderful film that really captured the personalities of these two wine makers and how their personal styles made their wines identifiable. Not remembering is driving me crazy, not least of which because I want to watch it again!
