Just spoke with Mark, he's covered under a pile of order forms... Wink

Mark will be sorting through all the orders he receives and pick out the ones that actually come from the mailing list customers, not copies or simply downloading the order form from the website.

He will try his best to honor these orders, especially the mailing list customers that had purchased from the winery in the past.

Last but not least, Mark will also be taking 50 extra sets out of his personal library collection to take care as many mailing list customers as possible.

This concludes my public service announcement. Wink

p.s. There are still some 6-Packs of Second Chance Vineyard available.

Not to be critical, but why did Neal decide to only offer six packs when they must have know they were going to sell out so quickly? Why not offer them by the bottle or limit the allocation to 2 or 3 per person.

I'm happy for what seems like a genuinely nice winemaker, but a little disappointed that I may not get an allocation of single vineyard wines after purchasing the Napa Valley.
tomtom,

I am sure Mark can provide you with a better answer on why the 6-PK sets, but here is what I gathered.

The allocation of 6-PK set is designed for the future, when the other possible vineyard designates are ready, which could be as early as the 2002 release.

The 6-PK is designed with the intention of providing the customers a full set of vineyard designate Cabs from 6 distinctly different locations. These are wines made to show the terrior of the vineyard, so everyone can learn about Mt. Veeder, Howell Mountain, Rutherford Bench, etc.

Pyang, makes sense, I was just sort of perplexed why they offered the single vineyards with a minimum when he was going to sell out. Then again, maybe he didn't know he was going to sell out. Wasn't meant as critical, although I think that's how it came out. Either way, I'm glad I ordered the Napa Valley. And I went ahead and sent in my order hoping maybe my prior purchase will help. Thanks for the recommendation, one of the best finds of the last few years.

By the way, I opened a 375 ml a few nights back and it was gorgeous (I couldn't wait). Black cherry, dried fruits and hazelnut (might have been oak, but seemed different) at the finish. Lots of tannins and I'll definitely wait a few years before diving in to the 750s.
pyang or anybody that knows-

is this a wooden display box set or more of a nicer heavy cardboard box? i have seen lately a nice box from beringer at a few wine stores locally from the last 4 or 5 vintages for sale.

the is one of the best wineries i have ever come across for customer service as well as quility product and price.

all my best to mark neal and neal vineyards

rich
Rich,

It's a double thick cardboard box similar to the Beringer Private Reserve box.

I believe the design calls for a Napa Valley appellation map on one of the panels with indicators of where the single vineyards are located at.

tomtom,

Hope you will get the 6-PK you ordered. Mark did account for those customers with past purchasing history that did not have the chance to return the mailer due to one reason or the other.
