- N.V. Henriot Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut - France, Champagne (10/20/2010)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over approx. one hour –
NOSE: slightly oxidized apple; chalky earth.
BODY: golden yellow color; medium bodied.
TASTE: tart; slightly oxidized green apple skins; rather sweet, and not quite enough acidity to support it. Didn’t know how the “pros” reviewed this wine until after I drank it, but I was very surprised to see the high “pro” reviews for this wine. Not scored, but gut impression tells me 85-88.
