Earlier this week a colleague/friend texted me that she had bought and moved into a new home and that the previous owner had left the entire contents of their wine cellar behind, still in the racking. My friend boxed it all up and invited us to come look at what they have, because they aren't serious wine people and they have no idea if any of it is worth keeping.

We've been going through it all weekend and what an arduous, but interesting project. It's mostly 1980s and 90s CA (mostly Napa) cabernet and Bordeaux blends but there are others mixed in. We've found a lot that are likely still drinkable (opened a 1993 Spring Mountain Vineyard cab with dinner last night and it was lovely)

We've been through probably 14 cases so far and there are about another 14 cases to go.

The CellarTracker community database has been invaluable for researching these wines but many are listed there with no notes, user ratings or information. Is there somewhere else that is as helpful as CellarTracker where I might look??

You’d likely get more responses if you posted specifics. Even more if you posted a few tasting notes. You could also try several online fora that get a lot more traffic than this one.

The busiest is WineBesterkers: https://www.wineberserkers.com...um/viewforum.php?f=1

Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts is good for, obviously, Bordeaux: http://www.bordeauxwineenthusi...om/viewforum.php?f=4

CellarTracker has a forum: https://www.cellartracker.com/forum/tt.asp?forumid=5
