So after just over three and a half years of living in Munich, Germany, my wife and I will be moving back to Toronto at the end of July. It is NOT easy leaving Munich - it's been a wonderful several years here, good work, great people, lots of easy travel to all kinds of beautiful places around Europe, great skiing. If anyone is ever offered the opportunity to work and live in Munich for a while, go for it - I don't know another city that offers as good a lifestyle. I have a hunch that we'll end up living here again down the road.

In the meantime, it will be awesome being back in Toronto, a city we also love. Now if only there were something that could be done about that LCBO...

Anyway, the point of this rambling post is simply to say: I hope to get the opportunity to meet more of you soon, at tastings and offlines in Toronto, Montreal, and elsewhere in NA. It'll all be within reach now!

+1 on grabbing the opportunity to live and work in Munich Cool
(or anywhere in Europe for that matter).
Welcome back, shavez. I look forward to the eventuality of meeting you
(w+a speaks very highly of you Wink ). Montreal is just up the road. Take advantage.
Good to hear about the frequency of offlines in TO!

KSC02 - I'll be travelling a fair amount, and will be in Montreal pretty often. Can't wait, I've always enjoyed visiting there.

w+a - this just came up recently, and things then moved very quickly.

One other thought...I do not know if you are repatriating your wine collection or not, but if you are, you may want to do some research beforehand to avoid unexpected and potentially unhappy outcomes courtesy of our friends at the LCBO.

This linkmay be a place to start.

Thanks VinToronto - I'll be bringing my small collection back with me, and have set the wheels in motion with the LCBO. My biggest concern right now is the actual shipping...
This is the worst time to be moving wine. I am moving from NC to Va next month and most options are very expensive or too risky.

We rented a locker in Virginia Beach and brought 300 bottles up when we where house hunting. We woke up at 4:00 AM and loaded, kept the car at 66 degrees the entire way and arrived before the heat of the day set in.

The others will be be brought by us when we move and dropped into the locker until our household goods with our cellar is delivered.

The things we do for this hobby! Good luck with your move Shavez!
