Spanish Prisoner is an excellent film, but I am a Mamet fan.
Hanna. A great film and Saorsie Ronan gave an early sign of what a wonderful actress she is

...and filmed with a single camera in (almost) one continuous shot. When they were shooting, they had to stop every 10 minutes to change film reels, but those cuts were disguised by things like having the camera pan across a dark surface. There are 4 visible cuts in the film that occurred every 20 minutes. They coincided with when the theatre projectionist would have to change reels.
Captain Marvel - Gives the background for the character that will have a much larger role in the next Avengers movie. But doesn't add much to the storyline.

Saw that they are coming out with a Hanna series on Amazon Prime. Could be worth watching. They did a decent job with Jack Ryan.
Bohemian Rhapsody - really enjoyed the movie, thought it was done really well handling a lot of music scenes.
A Star is Born - recent version - enjoyed it much more than I thought, Gaga did a good job of acting. Thought there was a few parts that were a bit odd, but overall pretty good.

Less commonly known is that Hitchcock tried to same thing with his next movie Under Capricorn with Ingrid Bergman and Joseph Cotton. Though the long shots are not used on every scene, unlike Rope, it attempts shots that goes through rooms instead of a single location. In an amazing scene a massive crane assembly was used to keep shooting up, down and around a staircase. Though not a great film, as with all of Hitchcock's movies, there is much to admire. Last year a 4k restoration was released:
FWIW I'd rank To Catch a Thief around number 18 in my Hitchcock list. Beautiful stars, some beautiful scenes, but ultimately shallow.

I do indeed have opinions on all things Hitchcock. I viewed his work 100’s of times even before my daughter became an aficionado of his work.😎
A topic that would be a great thread IMHO. ( His top 10 films)
To Catch a Thief would not be in my top 15 I don’t think, yet it is a visual tour de force in so many, many ways. The Birds never makes my top 10 which seems to draw odd looks from people in my film club.🙃

I have a soft spot for The Birds because I can remember watching it when I was about 8 years old and it scared the shit out of me. For the longest time I didn't look at birds the same way. Hell, even today I still look sideways at crows when walking by them.

Likewise. It was on TV one night and I was told by my parents I couldn't watch it. I snuck down to the basement and watched it anyway. In the dark.
Recently:
Juliet, Naked
Better than the Nick Hornby novel it's based on. The kind of film only the Brits can make. It could have been sappy and cloying, but instead it's breezy and deft. Totally likeable and believable cast. Nothing profound, but an enjoyable 105 minutes.

Us -- 87pts. When your first film is Get Out it's hard to have your second effort be as special. Still, lots of good ideas and great, great performances. It's very interesting that the this film has an score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes which is almost has good as the 98% Get Out received. However, there's a big difference is the audience scores. Get Out settled out at 86%, but Us actually lost of couple of points from Saturday to Sunday and is currently at a dismal 69%. An example of the so-called "critic's movie"?
