The Shape of Water

This won the Oscar for best picture???? Really?

Lady Bird

OK. I'm sure I would have liked it a lot more if I was 30 years younger.

A Quiet Place

Probably scarier on a big screen. I saw it on a plane.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Also viewed on a plane and I didn't get to see the last 15 minutes. Very strange and disturbing film with Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman that I'd never heard of before. When I get the chance I will watch again.

The finest films on my 250 inch home cinema projector screen, with popcorn produced from my estate corn field, and butter churned from our estate pasture raised cows, naturally!

Cheers!

This asshole in response to the #metoo movement, "I laugh, absolutely! I will have you know, Mr Hardy [sic] hardly stands a chance at feeling my Double D's, positively..."

You are a pig. Time to stop this unfunny, and in this case insensitive, routine.

TOM, he enjoys getting a reaction. If no one responded, he'd go away.

I know, but after pathetically satirizing the important #metoo movement, and knowing that this person appears to have no conscience, you'd hope that one or two of his followers would tell him it's time to hang up this unfunny act.

The 15:17 Train to Paris - good real story, but I was wondering why the acting was so bad.  Doh!  The heroes played themselves in the movie.

7 Days in Entebbe - much better acting; interesting perspectives from the hijackers to the Israeli special forces to the passengers and to the Israeli cabinet making the decisions to rescue them.

Julie & Julia

This was better than I expected. Of course they had to squeeze the Aykroyd skit in there, which always makes me laugh.

Hearts of the West

With a young Jeff Bridges, Andy Griffith and Blythe Danner. The latter looked a lot like Gwyneth Paltrow back then. Not bad.

Le Confessional

Very good, but not a happy film. Now I need to watch I Confess.

Deadpool 2

Solo a star wars story. Both on flight to Madrid

And?  Either worth seeing?

I enjoyed both.  Deadpool 2 was funnier than the first.  If you liked the first definitely see it. If y oi u did not I would skip it.

I also liked Solo.  Not deep or a masterpiece but a fun movie.  Good cast.  I hated Rogue One which I also saw on a plane but enjoyed Solo.  Made fight go by quickly

JC, see if CEBO has any cancellations for dinner while you are in Madrid. We ate there this week and were duly impressed. If you can’t get in ( extremely difficult) grab something at Glass Mar around 10:00 PM at their bar.

Safe travels....
