Hellboy II
Watched Rain Man again last night. I had forgotten what a good performance Hoffman put in. It was released in '88, 3 years before my own autistic son was born. There are a few similar tics between them both. It's obvious Hoffman did his homework in an era where autism was much more of a mystery than even now.
Tropic Thunder
Bee Movie with my son last night. Cute show.

Just Ok. Bordered on being a chick flick. Glad I only paid the 4.99 for on demand instead of the theater price for my wife and myself.

For V-day, Mrs. Glennk really wanted to go see He's just not that into you. It was very much a chick flick, but did make me laugh at times and there is plenty of eye candy for the guys.
The Visitor.

Underworld: Evolution was on TV this morning. Even all vamped out, Kate Beckinsale is hot…

I saw this movie as well a few weeks back.
What was your take on this movie, w+a?
Tropic Thunder
I thought that Robert Downey was quite good, but Tom Cruise stole the show.
And as for "Underworld", Kate Beckinsale can drink my blood any time...

Donnie Darko. So bizzare, so good. Too bad the Director's 2nd movie, Southland Tales, didn't hold up to the 1st.

Entertaining and a good role for Kevin Spacey, I thought.

Watched "Flawless" last night on demand. Robert Deniro and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are two of my favorite actors. Watching Hoffman play a drag queen, well, enough said.
Blue Velvet
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla

I saw "Flawless" a couple of months ago, so I was totally confused by your post until I realized you were talking about an earlier movie of the same name (but completely different plot).
The 2007 movie is about a diamond caper in London in the 1960s, and stars Demi Moore, who does not resemble Hoffman in drag at all.

Not the first time I've seen it. Still a very strange movie with lots of cool imagery. Hopper is psycho.
Burn After Reading. Really enjoyed it, as I have most Coen Brothers films.

Yep! I kept waiting for him to say: "F___ you, you F___ing F___!!!" which I'd seen on T-shirts before in big cities, and thought was a Blue Velvet quote, but this is just about the only permutation I didn't recall hearing him say.
I really liked it as well. I’m probably in the minority, but I enjoyed it more than No Country For Old Men…quote:Originally posted by bman:

I'm perhaps not the best movie critic to follow, as I go for pure entertainment, usually comedy, though historical films, sci fi and the usual epics also turn me on. Films about the places we've lived I also enjoy: anything about India or Central America get my attention. Haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire yet but I plan to soon. And Monsoon Wedding is one of the few films I could watch over and over again....
