PURPLE and I have been HORRIBLE about going to the movies. Must have been six months ago the last time we darkened the doors of a theater. Finally got off the stick and saw Slumdog Millionaire today. Good to very good flick. Not sure I'm as hog wild about it as others in my limited circle but definitely a worthy movie of note.

I think next up is Frost/Nixon or maybe Milk if we can locate it locally.
you are correct sir. it was simply depressing, but in a way that just gets me. rourke was ON. and more importantly(i would say spoiler alert but i think anyone/everyone would/could see it coming)... NO HAPPY ENDING!

loved it, yes.

We watched it last night on dvd. Still hilarious!

It's on now. "If you gotta shoot, aim high. We don't want to hit the groundhog."

"He might be OK. Well, no, probably not now."

[Driving down the railroad tracks toward an approaching train]
Phil: "I'm betting he's going to swerve first."

Phil [holding drink]: "Can I have another one of these with some booze in it?"
Without Limits

This is the Robert Towne directed movie about Steve Prefontaine starring Billy Crudup, Donald Sutherland, Monica Potter.

Having also seen the Disney produced Prefontaine, I personally liked Without Limits more. I think Billy Crudup did an excellent job as Prefontaine (though Jared Leto's version was also good). Donald Sutherland is terrific as Bill Bowerman and Monica Potter did a nice job in her role as Mary Marckx (plus, she's very pleasant on the eyes).

Lastly, they chose some good music for some of the soundtrack, courtesy of Joe Walsh, David Crosby, Lou Reed, Lee Michaels, Jefferson Airplane, Blind Faith, and Cream
