I thought Grand Canyon was much more Pop Art like... it was showing us our self in a hyper format, yet allows you the viewer to judge/decide.
I thought Crash had an agenda, and was not open to allowing the viewer to judge/decide.
Watched the new Bond this weekend. As expected, action was awesome, story and everything else average. I would give it B- just because it was entertaining and I like Craig as bond. I wish they would let bond use his charm a little more instead of just kicking ass all the time. Also, I was not a big fan of the new bond girl. Cute girl but they should have made her more feminine, if that makes any sense. With that said, it’s a fun 2 hours and if you’re in the mood for action, I would recommend it.
Should disclose that I didn’t like Casino Royale as much as most. I couldn’t get over the cheesy poker scenes. I gave CR a C+ in comparison.

I revisited Purple Rain again this weekend. The clothes, hairstyles and dance moves of Prince are just hilarious.
W+A, I would agree, very much, with what I remember about GC, plus in the somewhat polemic nature of Crash.

I've been sick for the past 10 days and one of the local cable movie channels is doing a James Bond retrospective. The other night I saw On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which I hadn't seen for a long time. I forgot that JB (George Lazenby) actually got married in that one.

Actually Rothko, I agree with you. MM3 started out very well, and then quickly spiraled into a pile of pig manure, literally.

I owed the wife one so we went and watched Easy Virtue on Friday night. It wasn’t as much of a chick flick as I expected, but it wasn’t good either. Jessica Biel was easy on the eyes as always (easily in my top 5), but the story was choppy and seemed a bit forced. C
Yesterday while nursing a cold on the couch we watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Really random movie here that had an odd pace to it. There were some laugh out loud scenes but overall it was totally cliché and somewhat boring. C-

Thought I'd treat the teens last night and bought Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan. I remembered it as being a pretty cool and thought provoking movie. More realistic than any other incarnation.

I agree that it's no classic, but I really find it highly entertaining.
