On the airplane to Montreal, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which helped me prepare for the Bohemian lifestyle of Montreal.

I watched The Hangover flying home last night, which had several parts reminiscent of our Friday night/morning in Montreal.

The stories from that night, well actually early morning will become folklore within the circle that experienced it.

I wonder when was the last time DoktaP went to bed at 5 AM?

September 1983 methinks. I have to admit that this weekend was very reminiscent of my university days. You're correct that the early morning intrepid stroll will go with me to the grave. Folklore would be a very fitting term. Just don't tell mom how we behaved.

Finally watched American Psycho. Pretty troubled character. Not sure I would like the book. Well done by Bale though.

Not sure how old you are Primordealsoup, but if you lived through the Yuppie 80's, you'd see this for the black comedy it is. It's probably in my top 25 list.
Catch Bale in The Machinist.

Oh, I got the black comedy. I remember the time- and stereotype history has made of it. Yes, Bale was even better in the Machinist, I thought. I got to appreciate him more as an actor from those roles.

Movies on the plane yesterday were bleh, so my son and I watched It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World on my ipod. I've seen some pale imitations out there, but NO ONE could remake that movie.

On of my favorite comedies of all time. A rare thing with such a cast. Usually, the script and everything else is thrown out the window when so many well-knowns get together to make a movie. They certainly don't make them like that anymore.

A 'small' movie that would probably be good for the stage, but an enjoyable one nonetheless, with a good story and characters/acting.

Wow, you and I seem to be on the same page these days. It's been a long time, but my fave character was the Picasso-wannabe who kept trying to pay for his meals with sketches. Big Grin

I wondered about that guy, wondered if his paintings would eventually bail out the brothers. Never really got to see details of his work though.

IRON MAN 2 in IMAX

Thoughts?

I really enjoyed it. To me it was as good as the first. Just different. More special effects, which is to be expected in a Version 2. D felt the first movie was better, though she also enjoyed this one as well.

Mikey Rourke plays his character well.... as does Scarlett Johansson (w+a alert! Wink ).
If you like the story, you'll enjoy the Second movie. Worth seeing, IMO. Just sit back and enjoy.

ALERT: Wait until the very end of the credits before leaving........
