Clearly you haven't seen Cliffhangar yet then...

Agree on Vertical Limit, a sappy movie indeed. Try K2, for a significantly better mountaineering movie.

I did, but was ashamed to admit it until now Big Grin

And as lame as that movie was I still think Vertical Limit is even more lame. At least Cliffhanger had a halfway decent lead actress (Janine Turner... not great but a better actor and better looking than Robin Tunney) and a good villain character (John Lithgow) in it.

AGREED!

I thought Javier Bardem was perfect as the quiet yet viciously evil bad killer. I've seen him in several other movies and he plays a wide variety of characters equally well. He's a very talented actor.

Another fan. I've seen it 3 times now and have enjoyed it more each time.

Ditto. My MOTY in a VERY strong 2007 for films.

With you on that one.
This had my vote for WMOTY!

I thought it was brilliant. Cool

After speaking with D, I have a big, slightly embarassing, confession to make. Red Face

I have not seen "No Country for Old Men" yet!

It seems that I've confused this movie with "There Will be Blood" Roll Eyes
My apologies...

Guess I need to rent this movie and see what the fuss is about.
both *COMPLETELY* overrated. pay no attention to this thread. Popcorn

I thought it was a very good, but not a great film.

Once I got past the anti-capitalist sub text and the slow pacing, I recognized a brilliant performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, and the extraordinary cinematography.

Good call, the imagery was the star of the film IMO. Plus some line about milkshakes or something. . .

Pretty much a by-the-numbers, unfunny comedy, with poor acting and even worse direction.
I'm surprised it didn't make billions. Roll Eyes
Yeah it was pretty crappy, and that's coming from someone who doesn't mind him in King of Queens.

Unfortunetly, the only part where I laughed was when he checks his match dot com ad and sees he has "0" matches. Nothing funnier than a fat guy blubbering... Razz

Revolutionary Road. Very good, but dark film. I hate to admit it, but DiCaprio was pretty good...again. Kate Winslet...just another excellent performance. It didn't dawn on me until after the movie that Sam Mendes also made American Beauty. Safe to say he and Kate must not live in suburbia. Big Grin

Solid movie!
