Satyajit Ray's Apu Trilogy is almost too sublime too intense to watch. It's just a gift that the fifties brought us such amazing films from around the word. Do you know how much I hear today's silly reviewers overuse the phrase, "heart felt"? The should watch this and go hang their heads in collective shame.

Old Man, the American cinema has become an embarrassment with too few exceptions. This ebb is lasting far too long I'm afraid.

Harry Potter? Gee, I haven't seen any of them but I'll start on them after I finish Finding Nemo and a South Park retrospective.

My daughter wanted to see it so since I hadn't yet, I sat down and watched it. Not too bad. I'd probably watch the others with her Smile

You get a pass, Daddy! I'd have done it too!
Rush. Fairly realistic driving and car shots. Good representation of Hunt, fantastic one of Lauda. I think that, while they were huge rivals, the fact that they actually were quite close friends (having shared an apartment during their F3 days) was a little underdone. It might have made the movie a little more poignant. Also Lauda pulled out of the Japanese GP more because he couldn’t blink well enough with his burns, it wasn’t purely mental.

Made my dad cry, Hunt helped “discover” Giles Villeneuve in his Formula Atlantic days, Giles and my dad were offered the same F-Atlantic seat and my mom wouldn’t let him take it…

Hey at least you've started watching the best mini-series ever on TV.

You must not have realized that I listed Mannequin...

Nothing really good though, you're right. I've been drugged out, so it's just been a bunch of crap to watch between pills.

I did enjoy Catching Fire, but didn't care much for the others. 12 years... was just depressing. I am, however, a big fan of the Dark Knight trilogy, so I never tire of that one.

Which series are you referring to? Blacklist is fun, but I have my complaints. The Wire seems okay so far, but nothing mind-blowing. Game of Thrones has been a bit slow for me.

I'm gonna try to do some reading today.

Any "easy to watch" movie suggestions?

Which series are you referring to?

It was The Wire. One reason is for the "Fuck" episode which may be one of the greatest ever on TV. Second is for the bold move it pulls of on the second season (no spoilers here.) And lastly for the phenomenal ensemble cast--probably the best set of actors (and one female non-actor who has not shown up yet.)

Any "easy to watch" movie suggestions?
Off to work, but try Bad Day at Black Rock.
