w+a. nope. I haven't. As I posted last week I've been seriously remiss in seeing movies the past 6 months or more so now I'm in catch up mode.

Next weekend on tap is The Reader, Benjamin Button or Revolution Road. Which one first boys and girls?

Haven't seen these three yet, but my wife has, and recommends them.

I hear you on the six months thing. Seems like my movie theater sprees each year come in two waves:

1. Summer blockbusters (Batman, Cloverfield in '08).
2. Pre-Oscar heavies (Jan/early Feb).
I'm trying to get back into the habit of seeing at least one movie or one museum/art gallery on a regular basis. Both are great ways for me to get out of the house (I telecommute) and just drop out and relax a little.

PURPLE has some volunteer work this afternoon so I'll likely catch a flick she doesn't want to see with my youngest son. Doubleheader weekend!

GAH! Did your 20-something daughters hold a gun to your head and force you to watch this?

Ummm... I think you have a very different relationship with your parents than I do with mine. I don't think anyone should watch that movie with parents or kids... Wink

And, W+A, WHAT were you doing up at 4:30? You are as bad as I am! Smile

Good movie, though.

It's not quite a movie, but DomnVin and I have been watching a lot of Schoolhouse Rock lately. I am seriously debating bringing it to school and showing my freshmen....

You should; those annoying songs saved my bacon in school numerous times. You just can't get them out of your head.

It is a good film isn't it? I wish Malick would/could put out films more often. Have you seen this K?

Nope. Haven't seen it. I'll keep my eye out for it here.
Thanks, IB.

Sure. If you aren't used to Malick's pacing, be warned that some describe it as plodding. I'd describe it as beautifully layered. His film "Thin Red Line" is at or near the top of my short list of best war movies ever made. I think his films suffer on the small screen though. Smile
