Prometheus.

Recently watch Lawrence of Arabia without my bride. (Oops)

We are now about to watch it (again) together.

No problem for me...sheer greatness.

Bad Lieutenant. The original with Harvey Keitel. Not that piece of dreck with Nicholas Cage.

Contagion. Interesting plot and nice pace. But the film does very little in the way of character development. Could not grasp on to any of the main players. Such a shame for a terrific star-studded cast.

Saw Moonrise Kingdom last night. Many in the theatre laughed and there was applause at the end of the movie. It gets very high ratings and wonderful reviews.

I did not understand the movie, found some words spoken too fast to understand, and thought it was a horrible movie. My wife and our companions also thought it was terrible.

Maybe I'm too old or something.

Blindsight

Documentary on an expedition to climb a 23,000 foot mountain that included 6 blind teenagers from Nepal and was "led" by the first blind person to reach the summit of Everest. Not great but interesting.

Thought I would enjoy it for the action/survival story, and I did, but enjoyed it even more for the less obvious message. Liam Neeson is in my top 2 or 3 favorite actors.

The Dark Knight Rises.

Quite good until the last 6-7 minutes when it went all cop-outie.

I thought it was very good but not great. So far I've seen four of the other films that were up for best picture -- Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, and War Horse -- and I can see how The Artist won, but I might have given the nod to Midnight in Paris. And I think I enjoyed Hugo and War Horse as much as The Artist (though would give the nod to it over those two for award).

Saw this last night and thought it was another excellent movie. Yeah, the cops v. villains were a bit over the top. It was still a great movie and as good as the second.

P.S. This is the only movie where I think Hathaway is one sexy actress. Terrific Catwoman role.

Machete – For what it is, I thought it was entertaining.

Act of Valor – Awesome movie. I’m not an overly patriotic person, but man this movie brought it out in me. Pretty amazing what those guys do.

King Lear, Jean Luc Godard.

Thanks to Richard Brody with The New Yorker for reminding me of this movie.
