Recent notes in CT seem fairly positive, sounds like it spent most of its life shedding the tannins so could be a good find

Plus, the upside I'm assuming is your purchase is helping a charity so win-win

I just checked CellarTracker for grins, and was amazed at the notes. I had this wine 7-8 years ago and it was well past prime. May have been the bottle, and the large format may help. Still, for my $, it's a pass.....

Most of the 1975 Bordeaux were tannic and long-lived. I'm guessing PH had an off-bottle. I think it's worth a shot.

I think $850 is fair for a magnum. I have had good luck with '75 Mouton.

We opened a magnum of this wine earlier this year and it was fantastic. Made me want to go find more!

Opened a 750 at the same time and it was, indeed, tired.
