I am going to be in both cities during the end of September.  I'd love some recommendations for good (preferably great) BYOB restaurants in each city.  I'd search previous posts, but I can't figure out how to in the new format.

In Toronto, Richmond Station is top of my list. Just tried Globe Bistro and the chef's tasting menu was really good - and the bonus is free corkage on Wednesdays. Le Select Bistro is a solid choice (classic French bistro). Others: Montgomerys, Grey Gardens, Beast...  and many more that others from the TWC can chime in on.

Of course, if you have time, I'm sure some of the Toronto Cru would be happy to get together with you and pop a few.

How could I forget Tutti Matti?  Excellent suggestion.

I know! They were flooded after the last monsoon so are rebuilding but after we should really do an offline there. Kath and I had a quail ravioli in double consommé dish there a couple of years ago that I still think about.

There are several threads on Montreal BYOW's, but I can understand not searching anymore. The search feature in the new format sucks. That said, some of them may not even exist anymore.

Recommended currently

Prince

O'Thym

Le Smoking Vallee

Le P'tit Plateau

Two other recent ones which I haven't tried yet, but heard & read good things are

Monsieur B

Lannes et Pacifique

Not sure if you are aware of our regulations concerning BYO, but there are 2 types of restaurants; BYOW (do not sell alcohol and do not charge corkage) and fully licensed (do not allow BYOW). All of the above are the former.

And finally, if you have the time and inclination to get together with some of the local forumites, just post the date(s) and we'll see what we can do.
