Just pull the cork and there is a balsamic, nutty and grapey nose, very promising. The fruit on this is cherry, almost watermelon and that balsamic flavor and I think even a little smoke is in there as well. Acidic and astringent, light body and light color. Despite nice flavors there is a youthful bite that makes it impossible for me to enjoy now. Not really an ager, but a year or two for my benefit?

WIML89+

Tasted August 2, 2008 at a retail tasting.

Light garnet to garnet color in the glass, a little dusty looking throughout. Nose of briar patch, berries and maybe some tobacco notes. Flavors of bright berries and cherries. Bright acidity, light to medium tannins, light to medium body. Drink over the short to medium term. Since this wine is hovering around the $21.00-$22.00 a bottle mark at retail I'd say this is a really nice QPR and is recommended on that basis. (89 pts.)
