Last night I soaked a couple of halibut filets in milk for twenty minutes (anyone else ever try this?) then marinated in fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, chopped chives, chopped tarragon, dijon mustard, olive oil, and cracked black pepper. I grilled them for about 5-7 minutes per side. We had some brown/wild rice and steamed broccoli with them. Delicious!
Warm asparagus salad with poached egg, roasted mushrooms and bearnaise.

English pea agnolotti, black truffles, beurre noisette and parmigiano reggiano. ( Oh my word!)

Day boat scallops with cannellini beans, asparagus and roasted mushrooms.

Veal tenderloin with ricotta gnocchi and morel cream.

Garroxta with piperade, garlic tuille and prosciutto.

One of the greatest birthday dinners I can ever recall. Cool

Sounds like a nice Belgian beer will be in order.

Actually, I was thinking of a Rosso di Montalcino.

There are no condiments. Just ground lamb mixed with minced fresh rosemary and fresh mint, garlic powder, and mustard powder, lightly coated with salt and (more liberal amounts of) pepper patties -- grilled, then served on focacia with fresh chevre and red onion.

I've been on a lamb kick recently...

I could also open a Barbera...
Grilled a tri-tip Friday night. Opened a 2005 Beringer NV Cab.

Saturday night we had grilled lobster tails. 2007 Beringer Chardonnay Sbragia Limited Release.

Last night for DnVs birthday (I can't believe they are seven Eek) we let them pick the menu. So, we had grilled chicken "on the bone" and bratwurst, hot dogs, red beans and rice, macaroni and cheese, and a green salad. 2007 Taz Pinot Noir Cuyama River.

Followed it up with a mocha almond fudge ice cream cake. Smile

Really? That is an easy pairing! Wink

It was a cold and drizzly night. It jsut seemed like a good idea! I will be cranking out senior final exams (essay) tonight, so it will be whatever leftovers I have in the fridge and no wine. Another easy pairing night. Razz
