Fabulous Mother's Day takeout from one of our favourite offline restaurants -- Play in Ottawa.

Mixed cheese and charcuterie platter
Grilled Patagonia prawns
Roasted heirloom carrots
Duck leg confit
Soy marinated hanger steak and frites
Chocolate bomb and choux pastry for desert
A bottle of 2019 Chateau Pesquie, Cotes du Rhone

We also had a nice bottle of bubbly to start, from our cellar.

Can't wait to return to socializing with our wine and food friends. wavey

Our standard thin crust pizza for delivery - sausage, green peppers and onions.

A trio of delicious small plates shared with my wife for her birthday. Veggie tacos that featured roasted cauliflower and a red pepper/citrus salsa, falafel balls with tzatziki and arugula, and short rib pastry pie. All of those went very well with a Morgon Cote du Py. Bourbon was a nice pairing with the creme anglaise bread pudding.

We foraged a few lb's of pheasant back mushrooms, blitzed them in food processor and used them as the 'meat' in a bolognese. Served over polenta with blue cheese. Along with an asparagus salad with bacon in a dijon vinaigrette and chopped hard boiled egg.
