Thanks for the comments on the barolos and the Fuligni Mangiare.
2015 De Morgenzon, Maestro White
Two very nice wines:
2014 Telmo Rodríguez Mencía Valdeorras Gaba do Xil. Tasty as always and sad to say this is my last bottle. As with many of the Spanish contingent in my cellar, thanks to futronic for the rec.
1997 Banfi Poggio Alle Mura BdM. Drink now.

2006 Arnione Campo alla Sughera Bolgheri Rosso Superiore
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that the northern Maremma excels at. The aroma had a nice floral (violets) lift. Palate showed dark fruit with leather, graphite, and nice minerality. An excellent complement to charcuterie.
2003 Fuligni BdM
Rightly or not, I have always felt that Fuligni shows its best in vintages where others struggle... and this wine was no exception. A great bottle of wine.
2013 Recaredo, Cava, Terrers, Gran Reserva
A bunch of great wine over the past week with dear friends. Standouts:
2001 Ch. Latour. Holy moley. Stunning.
2002 Krug. Good gracious. Just wonderful.
Thinking the company made them even better!
PH
2013 Francesco Rinaldi Barolo Brunate
This will likely shut down at some point, but for now, it was an outstanding wine from this producer.
2004 Isole e Olena Cepparello
Based solely on this one bottle, it’s at peak or slightly past peak. Very tasty, but a little soft. Missing the tension I enjoy in the best Tuscan Sangio.
2012 Felsina Rancia - unctuous and drinking well
2015 Monsanto CC Riserva - a Costco wine and at $19 back the truck up.
Last week:
2011 Peter Michael-Ma Belle-Fille Chard
2008 Peter Michael Le Moulin Rouge Pinot
2015 Walter Hansel Cahill Lane Chard
2002 Hourglass Cab
2016 Falcone Paso Robles Cab

I find this wine to always be enjoyable so am not surprised it's excellent in 2015. Should be available around here soon so I will load up. Thanks.

Decided to open one tonight based on your comments.
Needed a good 2 hours for a nose to appear but it’s really singing now. Very enjoyable with Sangiovese ‘tension’ but I would say this bottle is still in the early stages of prime drinking.

Not surprised by your experience. I WAS surprised that mine was as advanced as it was. I have 5 more and I’m hoping they show younger than the first one.
2012 Maysarra Jamsheed Pinot Noir. Decent but a touch high in acidity for me.
2014 Chasseur Durell Chard
2005 Atauta Llanos Del Almendro
I was really impressed with this producer when I visited the Ribera del Duero a couple of years ago and I continue to be impressed every time I drink one of their wines. Superb.
2009 Telmo Rodriguez Rioja Lanzaga
2013 Tablas Creek Espirit de Tablas blanc
Our run portuguese wines has ended with our return to the US. From 6 euro a bottle table wines of wine lists to the high end stuff, the quality to price was impressive throughout
2010 William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros
Excellent
NV Deveaux Coeur des Bar blanc des noirs - nice rich full BdN, lots of baked apple.
2017 Burlotto Pelaverga - all the maraschino cherries & herbs, little tannin, good acidity. Good, light food wine.
2015 Benoit Roseau Syrah de Rosette - Wow for an entry level syrah. Tapenade, meat drippings and salt. Really liked it.
2016 Enfield Wine Co. Tempranillo Pretty Horses - sweet (but not candied) cherry and cranberry. Fresh and fruit-driven, but it also has a brambly, stemmy quality that lends some seriousness to it. Good stuff.
11 Mount Eden Chardonnay
11 William Selyem Block 10 - Mass Selection Pinot
87 Dunn Howell Mountain
14 Carte Blanche Cabernet
15 Post Parade cabernet
14 Dominus
10 YR Old Rip Van Winkle
12 YR Van Winkle lot B

Must have made for quite the contrast. How'd they show?

2005 Sori Paitin Barbaresco
Drinking very well right now. Excellent QPR

The Dunn was brought by a friend who blinded us. At first it tasted much younger than most I've had but after some time came around to the 87 Dunn we all love.
With more wine on the table than people the Dominus didn't get opened until after hours back at my house with ShaneT and a friend of g-man's that recently relocated here. It was very good but didn't have the benefit of any decanting and was followed by bourbon mayhem
2015 Bydand Cab.

The 2008 Peter Michael ❤️
2015 Little Wings Syrah - honestly wasn't expecting much as it's California Syrah but it was restrained with great fruit, some meat and faint hints of smoke - well done.
2015 Henri de Villamont Grands-Échezeau Grand Cru - yes infanticide but still gave pleasure and after a couple hours was actually drinking well.
1997 Il Poggione BDM - in a great place. '97s are still drinking from the traditional producers but I wouldn't hold them much longer.
2001 Sportoletto Villa Fidelia - nice wine but too one dimensional
2015 COS Cerasualo di Vittoria - really love the volcanic aspect to this wine however wish the prices would settle down.
2010 Maison Roche de Bellene Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux
2009 Domaine Santa Duc, Gigondas, Tradition
Not much on the nose but very smooth and good dark fruit flavours. I'll give it a 90-91.
With smoked brisket last night:
2013 Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Maestro Collection Limited Release followed by
NV Sandeman Founder's Reserve - this had been given to us as a house warming present 5 years ago and I dug it out - a fairly inexpensive Ruby Port. Nothing special but reasonably tasty and certainly enjoyable.
2007 Poggio Argentiera, Maremma, Finisterre
My first experience with this wine. A blend of syrah, alicante and cabernet franc. Really delicious and I wish I had more. Drink (decant) or hold.
NV Tarlant Zero Brut Nature - the PN & PM give this lovely richness and texture.
2009 Castelgiocondo BdM - drinking beautifully with a PnP. Perhaps it shouldn't have, but this totally exceeded expectations.
Last week:
2004 Harlan Estate Cab
2015 Beringer-Knight's Valley Cab
2013 Shibumi Knoll Chard
2017 Freeman Ryo-fu Chard
2016 DuMol Chloe Ritchie Chard
2013 Vitanza Brunello
2017 Markus Huber, Gruner Veltliner, Obere Steigen

I think this wine is much maligned because it's from a very large producer, but I've found it to be a consistently solid BdM at very reasonable price. The riserva is even better.
