We’re presently enjoying a getaway weekend at a mountain resort which has a very good kitchen. Tonight they’re having a special event dinner, “Step Back in Time” featuring favourites from days gone by— Dubarry soup, Caesar salad, salmon en croute, crêpes Suzette. I haven’t seen a couple of those on menus in years.😊

Ate at the Prime Rib in Baltimore tonight.  I had rack of lamb after a white asparagus salad.  Wife had the same salad with halibut.  Our friends: one had the halibut, the other the house specialty which is prime rib.  Had a Pahlmeyer Jayson 2017 (Napa) Cabernet and then a 2017 Frogs Leap cabernet.   The Pahlmeyer was better.  Way more profound, deep, berry intense, and everything else you would want.

Having our good friends the Tyee’s over to dinner tonight, so I’m shopping and cooking.

- olives, bison salami, Parm Reggiano

- smoked salmon spread

- leek and shiitake mushroom soup

- arugula, cucumber, celery salad

- shrimp and lemon risotto

- almond cake

- Cambozola, Stilton

There'll probably be a couple bottles of wine opened as well.

Pass along my regards.  It's been quite a while since I shared a bottle with them.  Our you and your lovely bride as well.
