If you've never seen a bullfight, I guess you ought to, but once is enough. Madrid's bullring is impressive.
Asador Etxebarri is outside of San Sebastian but worth the trip. One of the best meals we have ever had.
El Paraguas Irwin you will love it.

For San Sebastian:
Highly recommend Zuberoa. I've been there twice and both times were out of this world. For pintxos, Bar Nestor was my favorite. It's a small spot but you can call ahead and reserve the table (there's only 1, I believe).
I also went to Martin Berasategui and Akelare but wasn't a huge fan of either. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Wish I could've gone to Etxebarri but I didn't plan far enough in advance to get a reservation.
Have a great trip, that's an amazing place!
Highly recommend Zuberoa. I've been there twice and both times were out of this world. For pintxos, Bar Nestor was my favorite. It's a small spot but you can call ahead and reserve the table (there's only 1, I believe).

Yeah, we were between Arzack, Mugaritz and Rekondo and we should have went with one of the other 2. Food felt a bit dated which is odd for it's reputation and nothing really came close to exciting us. Also had some cooking issues with a few dishes. Boring is not on the menu at the 3 star Martin Berasategui. I hope to get there in 2019. Sorry to hear about Arzack.
