Lemon Meringue Pie

Jamie, you can also look for recipes for lemon tart or lemon curd tart. I have a very lovely recipe for both. The dough, a pate sable, is very easy to make as is the meringue. It would need to be converted to the English system of measurement but that is not too hard.

I'm not a fan of lemon meringue pie, but I love lemon flavors. One of the best three desserts I've ever had in a restaurant is the lemon mousse at the now-defunct La Colombe d'Or in NYC. It was tart and sweet, light but not too light, a perfect ending to a great meal. Anyone have a good recipe for it?

Thanks for the rec's. I'm going to try the Paula Deen recipe. Though I'm not a big Paula Deen fan, this recipe looks like just what the neighbor might like.

Thanks, but the lemon mousse we loved at La Colombe d'Or was lighter than what you've listed. It was light, but extremely satisfying at the end of a big, rich meal. We used to dine there frequently. I regret not asking for the recipe.

I don't particularily like Lemon Meringue but I do enjoy Key Lime pie on occasion. What interested me was the thought of what wine or after dinner drink I would pair with either. Any thoughts??

Once at The Inn at Little Washington I expressed disappointment that there wasn't a lemon dessert on the menu. They came back with 6 small lemon tarts, all with a different topping (berrys, cream, etc.) surrounding a small pot of the best lemon curd I ever had. I guess that is why they are considered one of the best restaruants in the country.

Not a lemon meringue guy either. And it is too bad, as my mom's pie used to win blue ribbons at the county fair year after year when I was growing up....
