I get mail service sporadically whenever the mailman decides to show up for work, so I don't count on getting the print catalogue. And I never get the braille edition at all.  I go online to find out what is available.

The logic at the LCBO is truly perverse.  They keep justifying why they should do less until they do nothing at all.  And management is either absent or lacking any brains.

I hate to defend the KGBO, but I don't think this one is their fault.  AODA requirements came in 1/1/21, and I don't think there is a way to make the pdfs comply.  If it doesn't comply for everyone, it cant be available for anyone.  That's the rule, as silly as it is.

According to Ontario.ca, "Beginning January 1, 2021, all public websites and web content posted after January 1, 2012 [nb: I suspect a typo here and it s/b 2021] must meet WCAB 2.0 Level AA."  According to Adobe website, "PDF documents can be made to meet WCAG 2.0 to the Priority AA level."

It would appear then that LCBO simply doesn't care and took the easy way out eliminating the problem by making the PDF's disappear.

We could eliminate lot of problems by making the LCBO disappear .

Exactly. When my company creates PDFs for our clients, we are required to make them WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliant. It’s a PITA and time-consuming (Adobe’s automated tools don’t really work so it takes quite a bit of manual labour), but it can be done.

FYI ... product list is online with Adds/Drops - and it's in PDF format to boot!

February 2021 Classics Product List

The catalogue link redirects you to VSO where it says the offer isn't available for sale yet. Unless something is updated tomorrow, the online versions will have no reviews of the products, and therefore you'll need to do your own research (or get a copy of the print version).

Per the existing Classics links (currently available like Dec Classics), the PDF is gone but it goes to VSO where if you hover your cursor over the "i" under the Product Name column for each product, you get the review notes and other details.

To misquote the last line from a favourite film: “Forget it, Fut. It’s the KGBO.”
