Thanks, but nothing particularly interesting.

Many of those 'sale' prices remind me of regular prices not so long ago.
Stopped in at Crossroads on my way back to the city this evening and saw:
NV Legras & Haas Brut Tradition at $39.

2013 Sottimano Langhe Nebbiolo #$25

there was some proprieta sperino uvaggio at $55 (i think) and the lessona at $90-ish
and 2010 Ch. des jaques moulin a vent for $34.
and that place is a riot after 10pm. worth the price of admission.

If it's simply the Ch des Jacques Moulin a Vent (Villages wine) then the 2012 Ch des Jacques Moulin a Vent Clod du Grand Carquelin on bin end (online) at $35 is the better buy, and is quite tasty.

Yes it's open until 11pm. But bring a shotgun...
Why is it a riot....
I usually go to Bayview Village and it seems rather normal.

I've only shopped at Crossroads during daylight. All joking aside, the manager at my local LCBO (Burnamthorpe) got transferred to a store (Albion IIRC) in north Etobicoke. He was a real nice guy, a gentleman, one of the few good ones at the KGBO. He got shot.

Bummer.
I'll check it out when there is light.

Dunn Howell Mountain 2011 at Avenue/Lawrence for $120...actually $95 because the wax they put over the cork had chipped off on one side so they gave me another 20% off on top of the sale price
I had some more of the wax scrape off after I got home and sliding it into my cellar.

I popped into Crossroads tonight. They had several good wines in the Clearance section but their notion of a clearance price seems to have changed. Discounts were in the 1-3% range from the original release price. I talked to Carl about it and he said this seems to be the current/new pricing strategy at the Monopole.
Makes you wonder how they can justify seizing inventory from the agents. Being a government agency means never having to make sense...
Lots of stock in the clearance section at Crossroads, but not much to get excited about.
A dozen bottles of 2013 Castello di Ama Al Poggio at $33.95. I've never tried the Al Poggio, and don't know what the release price was, so I didn't bite.
But I did pick up two good deals. Single bottles (or I would have bought more):
2010 Il Poggione BdM for $49.45
2010 Pertimali (Livio Sassetti) BdM for $61.35

$68 from Lifford. So I'm very happy with $49.
I stopped in at Crossroads on my way home from Guelph on Friday afternoon. They had a great selection of wine in the Clearance section all at full release price or higher.
Good thing Kathleen Wynne is in politics because she sure ain't making it in retailing.

went by crossroads this aft - mostly as per OTW's assessment above. I did grab some '10 Pelissero Nubiola Barbaresco @ $36.50 & '13 Franck Balthazar Cornas Chaillot @ $56.85. They also have cases of'12 Bertrand Ambroise bourgogne discounted to just under $20 - anyone with any input on this? possible holiday house red?
edit for bman - i also remember seeing some mollydooker two left feet for $30-something. email me if you want me to grab some.

Good price on the Pelissero. That's 20% off the release price from 4 weeks ago.
I'm surprised LCBO stores were open on Nov 11th. Isn't this one of those "close enough to a real holiday that we'll close anyway" days?

That's total BS is what it is. Different CSPC code was the one discounted. I'll be calling Vintages tomorrow morning.
Good on vinoevelo though.

Burgundy Al on CT says "Earthy fruit with some roasted meat and rustic character". But the guy's only posted 19,000 tasting notes so what does he know? At 8g/L RS, this'll likely be a simple but satisfying crowd pleaser.

Thanks vinoevelo but I think I'm good - my cheapo Mollydooker preference is Boxer and I got 11 bottles of Enchanted Path at the last auction for a sweet price! And I think the Two Left Feet sold for $33 initially, no?

I think they might have been closed until noon, to allow the morning ceremonies to be completed. I passed by one today that was closed at 11:45 but the staff were inside stocking the shelves.
